High quality botanical extracts since 1933

Established in Milan in 1933, EPO Srl is a historic family company, that produces high-quality botanical extracts, suitable for food (food and food supplements), pharmaceutical, veterinary, and cosmetic applications. Extracts are also used in textile dyes, detergents, and agriculture supplies.
The company has modern production facilities in Fizzonasco di Pieve Emanuele (MI).
Products include dry, soft, fluid, glycolic extracts, tinctures and gemmotherapy extracts.
The entire production process follows GMP standards. Furthermore, the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, UNI EN ISO 14000:2015, 21CFR111-GMP for food supplements, Kosher, Halal and Organic certifications are an acknowledgment of the quality and safety that EPO extracts have always guaranteed.

Milano, Viale Certosa 147. EPO is established as “Estratti Piante Officinali”. The extracts, produced in the GMP-certified manufacturing department, are used for pharmaceutical applications or as flavors for drinks and spirits.

Milano, Via Stadera 19. The manufacturing department is shifted from Viale Certosa to Via Stadera, which is still the registered office.

The Nicotra Family acquires 100% of the company shares, starting a renovation of the production site and improving services.

Fizzonasco di Pieve Emanuele, Via Norma Parenti 5. Opening of a brand-new AIFA-certified production department, soon joined by other departments, new warehouses and offices.

All manufacturing departments are gathered in Fizzonasco, while the historical site of Via Stadera 19 is entirely dedicated to QC and R&D laboratories.

After years of research, the launch of the new “DNA certified extracts” line; this is the result of a collaboration with Bicocca University of Milan.

The 90th anniversary is here! The Nicotra family has taken important steps in the field of nutraceuticals to arrive at what EPO is today.

We have achieved the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certification, an essential reference for companies wishing to have an effective Environmental Management System.
